Analysis by InsiderAdvantage Pollster Matt Towery:

Four years ago our firm polled the contest with an amazing degree of accuracy. At that time we caught Republican Glenn Youngkin’s acceleration in the last week of that race. This time we are catching the steep decline of support for Republican Winsome Earle-Sears. Part of this decline is connected with the bounce Attorney General candidate Jay Jones has seen. He has managed to survive brutal texts from his past to be slightly ahead again in that race. So the boost Earle-Sears was receiving when the text scandal first broke, fell apart.

Three quick takes:

  • None of these candidates have the skill or money of Youngkin.
  • Republican Senators should have followed Trump’s instructions to go nuclear as to the filibuster. Despite differing polls on who the public blames, Democrats are using the shutdown to turn out voters. And the new Democratic Party will undoubtedly go nuclear should they regain power.
  • The is a general listlessness among GOP voters. We fully expect two statewide races in Georgia tomorrow to go Democrat due to poor funding and support. The GOTV in the races were mediocre and no ads appeared until the 11th hour for Republicans.
