Georgia’s two U.S. senators were in the tiny town of McIntyre, in central Georgia Monday to celebrate the groundbreaking of Wilkinson County’s first sewer system, a project it has been pursuing for more than 30 years.  U.S. Sens. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock worked to include some $6.3 million in last year’s appropriations package specifically for the new sewer system, which will replace many of the septic tanks that Wilkinson Co. residents use today.  Ossoff and Warnock said the project was important to them as part of fulfilling their pledges to improve infrastructure in rural Georgia.
