In a ruling that detractors say was a long time coming – and that his many supporters say is undeserved – former Clayton Co. Sheriff Victor Hill was sentenced on Tuesday to 18 months in prison, accompanied by six years of probation and a ban from participating in paid law enforcement activities upon release. Two Georgia congresswomen – U.S. Reps. Nikema Williams, D-Atlanta, and Lucy McBath, D-Marietta, have been voted into leadership positions in the House Democratic Women’s Caucus.
