The Georgia Lottery hit a major milestone last week when its total funding for education reached $25 billion. First approved 30 years ago, the lottery has funded HOPE Scholarships for more than 2 million Georgia college students and 1.7 million pre-k students – and many who have received the benefits of both programs. California Gov. Gavin Newsom may be taking shots at Georgia in an attempt to lure the film industry back west, but the Peach State’s film industry continues to break records. 2022 was another record year for the tv and film industry, with over $4.4 billion in direct spending, according to a new report from the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
