According to new numbers released by the Census Bureau, the city of Jefferson, in Jackson County, saw the fastest growth of anywhere in the state, adding about 3,500 residents over the past year for a 4.7% growth.  Much of that growth is driven by the two SK Battery Plants being built in the county, which will create more than 2,000 jobs when complete.  And because much of the growth is in the coveted 25-to-64 age demographic, the report shows that it’s mainly younger families moving outside of Atlanta for the cheaper property and good schools.
