Indian Knoll Elementary School in Canton has been selected as just one of 38 ‘Microsoft Showcase Schools’ nationwide, and the only one in Georgia.  Microsoft recognizes schools for their “successful integration of educational technology in the classroom.”  In the case of IKES, it was an effort spearheaded by technology lab teacher Marissa Williams and media specialist Jennifer Lewis to bring instructional technology into classes, which Microsoft officials called “the best of teaching and learning in the world today.”  As part of the award, Microsoft will reward the school with expanded access to a range of software products and give them a platform to share their practices with other high performing schools.
