Georgia’s Board of Education voted to “prevent the promotion of any divisive ideologies based on race or sex from being incorporated into Georgia’s K-12 public education standards.” The board’s chairman says it will “be focused on educating students rather than indoctrinating students” – an attack on “critical race theory” (CRT) curriculum which claims that the USA was founded on “white supremacy” and preserving slavery was the driving force behind the 1776 American revolution. Students should be treated as individuals endowed with equal rights without respect to race, and the board appears to be poised to enact this principle into actual regulations.
