In recent election cycles Georgia Democrats have had a hard time fielding viable candidates, even for statewide seats.  Does the name Jim Barksdale ring any bells?  Well that problem seems to be no more – as one of the party’s rising stars, state Sen. Jen Jordan of Atlanta, declared her candidacy for attorney general.  Jordan flipped the wealthy Atlanta Senate seat formerly held by Hunter Hill in 2017 and quickly became one of the faces of the state Democratic Party under the Gold Dome.  Now she will face off against Charlie Bailey for the party’s nomination, a strong candidate himself boasting endorsements from fmr. Gov. Roy Barnes and U.S. Rep. Lucy McBath.  A long way to go until November of 2022, but for Dems the fact that their candidate pool is finally stocked with capable campaigners sees their ship RISING…
