As expected there was a whirlwind of activity in the House and Senate Chambers Wednesday as lawmakers worked past midnight before closing out the 2021 legislative session. 

One bill that crossed the line late Wednesday was Senate Bill 156, sponsored by Republican Marty Harbin of Tyrone, that creates a Chief Labor Officer in the Georgia Department of Labor. The bill was passed despite opposition from the current Labor Commissioner Mark Butler.
