The city of Atlanta announced this week that it has finished its Bellwood Quarry reservoir project, filling the West Atlanta quarry with more than 2 billion gallons of water via a massive five mile tunnel that connects to the Chattahoochee river.  The new reservoir gives the city water reserves that will last between 30 and 90 days, up from just 3 to 5 days previously.  That’s good news should the seemingly unending water wars ever go sideways, (only half-joking).  The reservoir will be the centerpiece of the new Westside Park, which is slated to open at some point this year, and will become not only the city’s largest park but also the centerpiece of some major development for a mostly neglected section of Atlanta.  All in all the news has the city’s ship RISING…
