Another President Trump-appointed U.S. attorney will replace the departed U.S. Attorney for North Georgia BJay Pak. Hard-charging prosecutor Bobby Christine of the Southern District will assume both positions and clean up some cases with what little time he has left before being replaced by a Biden appointee (presumably later this month). Pak garnered various criminal indictments and convictions during a four-year corruption probe of Atlanta City Hall and the airport– but former Mayor Kasim Reed now appears to have skated free. Is there enough time for Christine to indict anyone further in that probe which dates from the Reed era? DRIFTING…
