The Hall County government last week was hit with a ransomware attack that took out county phones, emails, and websites.  Some services (like 911 calls) were able to function on a backup line, but others were out for days, and still others, like the the Hall County Sheriff’s Office’s ‘Sheriff to Citizen’ portal, are still down.  No word yet on what the ransom was or if it was paid, but as incidents like these become more common it shows the need for enhanced cybersecurity.  Luckily Georgia is becoming a hotspot for that field, but it doesn’t seem to have helped the Hall Co. govt., whose ship is SINKING…
