The deadline for the 2020 Census is quickly approaching, and state leaders are joining efforts to encourage participation. As of last week, Georgia continued to lag behind much of the nation when it comes to households counted. And with a deadline of September 30, Georgia stands to lose funding.
“We’re in an urgent situation in the state of Georgia,” Governor Brian Kemp said. “During the pandemic, it’s not been at the forefront of people’s mind, but it’s really important.”
