The return of students to college campuses predictably sparked a COVID-19 flare-up, and Athens, with its reputation as something of a party town, has been one of the hardest hit.  This week UGA suspended a fraternity and two other student groups are under investigation for violating pandemic social distancing rules.  This on the heels of the news that all tailgating would be banned for the upcoming football season.  It’s awfully hard to get college kids to stop partying, but now that Clarke County’s infection rates have surged to among some of the highest in the U.S., they have Athens and the surrounding area SINKING…
