Originally constructed as Centennial Olympic Stadium ahead of the 1996 games, the 85,000 seat venue was repurposed into Turner Field the following year, housing the Atlanta Braves until they moved to Cobb County in 2017.  At that point it became Georgia State Stadium, the home of the GSU Panthers’ football team.  Monday it was announced that the stadium will have a new name, pending expected USG approval – Center Parc Credit Union Stadium.  The company will pay $21.5 million for the naming rights, which it will keep for 15 years.  That’s a nice chunk of change for a school that, like all others, could use the cash in the midst of the pandemic.  The new name might not exactly roll off the tongue, but fiscally it has GSU RISING…
