Securing funding has become a bit of an issue in Georgia this year, but the Georgia Lottery is doing more than its fair share to ensure that the state’s education programs keep humming.  The lottery announced this week that it had transferred more than $1.2 billion in profits from the fiscal year that ended June 30 to education, a record in the program’s 27-year history.  That money goes towards the HOPE Scholarship and prekindergarten programs, with lottery retailers and online playing remaining popular even as coronvirus shut down much of the state in March.  More than 3.5 million Georgia students have directly benefited from the Georgia Lottery – and its continued success has the state RISING…
