Georgia voters who did not participate in the June 9 Primary Elections still have time to register for the upcoming runoffs. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger sent a memo to all county elections officials and county registrars earlier this week announcing the updated registration deadline of July 13 for the August 11 primary runoff elections. The update is effective immediately, according to his office.
A spokesman for the Secretary of State’s Office said the change in date was made in order to fully comply with the National Voter Registration Act and to match the July 13 voter registration deadline that federal law sets for the federal runoffs that are part of the upcoming primary runoff election.
