The presidents of the Atlanta Braves, Falcons, Hawks, and United have come together to voice their support for legalizing sports betting in Georgia. The heads of the four teams this week announced the creation of the Georgia Professional Sports Integrity Alliance, which urges state lawmakers to legalize gambling on sporting events, an industry that they say could generate more than $50 million per year for the state. Marietta Named Nation’s Most Charitable City
According to internal numbers from popular crowdfunding site GoFundMe.com, Marietta is the most generous city in America. In its annual review of donations, Marietta had more donations per capita than any other city with a population over 50,000, and was the only Georgia city to make the final list. GoFundMe allows users to make anonymous donations to causes people put on the site, with more than $9 billion in donations made since its inception in 2010.
