In 1980 measles killed nearly 3 million people.  By 2014 that number was down to 73,000, nearly all in developing nations.  The MMR vaccine is highly effective at reducing and even eliminating the disease, but thanks to the anti-vaxxer movement, measles is back in Georgia.  State health officials this month announced the state’s 8th confirmed case of measles in Cobb County, a ten year high.  The infected patient was not vaccinated.  State officials are urging all Georgia parents to have their children vaccinated to prevent measles and other preventable diseases from making a comeback – the anti-vaxxer movement has the health of the state’s children SINKING…
