Right to farm laws mean that people who move in near to working farms are barred from suing farms from carrying out their activities, which understandably may be smelly and/or loud.
HB 545, which stalled out in the Senate this year and will reappear in 2020, seeks to solidify Georgia’s status as a right to farm state. Neighboring states without such protections have already seen issues with farms coming under attack, so groups such as the Georgia Farm Bureau are taking the offensive to make sure farmers’ rights are protected.
