The Sept. 8 show opens with discussing yet another Atlanta City Hall corruption case– an admission of guilt to federal prosecutors by a contract compliance officer who (with former Mayor Kasim Reed’s brother) ran a shady company that steered clients into obtaining contracts. Discussion then turns to the state’s response to Hurricane Dorian as well as Gov. Brian Kemp telling agency heads to report to him on their budget cuts before the General Assembly gets into the act. Also analyzed are Georgia’s two 2020 U.S. Senate races & panelists basically agree that Atlanta’s public school superintendent has done a fairly good job so far. (And a footnote: Tharon Johnson salutes Georgia Tech’s new president as a “winner of the week” but regrets misidentifying Dr. Angel Cabrera,)
