Longtime Cobb Sheriff Neil Warren’s annual Corn Boilin’ event for charity last night brought out the lawman’s supporters but also a throng of Republican activists who will have the sheriff at the top of their Cobb County ticket in 2020. Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton won Cobb over Donald Trump in 2016, perhaps why GOP Gov. Brian Kemp made it a point to attend and support Warren. Also there was former Cobb DA and now-GBI Director Vic Reynolds. Some attendees think the Warren-Kemp-Reynolds tough stance on illegal alien and gang crime is a good reminder for Cobb Countians, especially for moderate/independent voters.
