The 2007 school shooting at Virginia Tech University left college and university officials across the country looking for innovative ideas for intervention in order to prevent similar incidents. Local schools like Columbus State University found one solution, implementing a behavioral intervention program.  University leaders like Dr. Chip Reese report that as a result of the program they have “seen [the university’s] culture change, where we’re helping people get back on track.”
