In January 2017 Gwinnett County Commissioner Tommy Hunter, upset over a feud between President Donald Trump and U.S. Rep. John Lewis (D-Atlanta) went on a Facebook rant calling the longtime congressman a “racist pig.”  A closer look at Hunter’s social media revealed other incendiary comments, mostly against Democrats.  Following public outcry the commission’s ethics board recommended that Hunter be given a public reprimand, which they did.  Now Hunter and his attorneys have sued the county for $5 million, alleging the reprimand has caused “continued economic injury,” as well as violated his 1st Amendment rights.  The other commissioners have pushed back at the claims and the suit, and his odds of winning the case seem to be DRIFTING…
