The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia on Thursday announced the sole finalist for the Georgia Tech presidency – current George Mason University President Ángel Cabrera.  Since assuming command of the Virginia college in 2012, George Mason has become the state’s fastest growing university, joining the top tier of research classifications and more than doubling philanthropic contributions.  It will also be a homecoming for the Spain-born Cabrera, who earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in cognitive psychology at Georgia Tech, met his wife while in school there, and sent one of his two children to Tech.  With an impressive resume and a background as a Yellow Jacket, this hire by the Board of Regents looks to have Georgia Tech’s ship RISING…
