Each year, U.S. military bases and other installations around the world compete for the annual Commander in Chief’s Award for Installation Excellence from the Department of Defense. Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan announced the awards last Friday and Georgia’s own U.S. Army Garrison Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield was one of five winners.
