Another of the many bills that passed this session was Senate Bill 77, sponsored by Sen. Jeff Mullis (R-53 Chickamuga). In short, the legislation outlaws any effort to remove or deface a public monument and imposes penalties if one should attempt to do so anyway. The bill passed in the Senate 33-17 and in the House 100-71, largely along party lines.
