A possible advantage for Democrats in this year’s gubernatorial election is the fact there will be no runoff this year. There are two candidates and whichever Stacey emerges on May 22 will receive the nomination.

This means two less months of mud-slinging and extra time to get over the hurt feelings, two months more of being able to focus solely on the general election. Not to mention two extra months to watch Republican candidates bash each other in an effort to stir up GOP base support or perhaps pull stunts that may end up not looking so great in November.
