On Wednesday, the second annual Bill Foege Global Health Awards were held at the Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta. Foege is best known as the man most responsible for eradicating smallpox and the awards go to individuals and organizations to recognize their commitments in advancing global health. This year’s award was presented to President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter.
