The DeKalb Entertainment Commission officially launched last month with a red-carpet gala that included hundreds of Georgia entertainment leaders and professionals. The Commission is a division of Decide DeKalb, the Development Authority for DeKalb County and hopes to stimulate continued economic growth in film, television, music and digital entertainment.

The film industry is one of Georgia’s fastest growing, with an economic impact of $9.5 billion in FY 2017. Music and digital entertainment contributed an additional $5.7 billion. More than 30,000 workers are employed in the industry. The Commission is aiming to provide a “collaborative, supportive infrastructure” to accelerate the growth and success of the industry.
