On Wednesday, Atlanta released its long anticipated updated planning document – The Atlanta City Design (ACD). Tim Keane, Commissioner of City Planning, introduced the document, along with Mayor Kasim Reed. The document is nothing if not thorough. At 387 pages, the book is a compilation of beautiful historic photos, a history of Atlanta’s development and the planned next steps.

The document is a result of efforts to plan both for the future and for Atlanta to be more “inclusive” in its growth. “The purpose of this meeting is to unveil a plan to accommodate 1.2 million people whol will be living in Atlanta in the not too distant future,” said Reed.
