While the Georgia GOP State Committee backed off on plans to adopt a resolution that would have required gubernatorial contenders to back “religious liberty” legislation, they overwhelmingly gave their approval to a resolution that opposes casinos and horse racing.
The resolution approved over the weekend cites concerns that gambling is tied to increased divorce rates and increased crime rates. It also warns that casino gambling in Georgia could open the door “for any Indian tribe to venue shop for property to open casinos.”
